HVAC Maintenance & Tune-Ups

Seasonal tune-ups that prevent the breakdown before it happens.

Most HVAC emergencies are preventable. A simple seasonal tune-up catches weak capacitors, dirty coils, low refrigerant, and worn ignition parts long before they leave you without heat or AC. GERARDO HVAC LLC provides honest, thorough HVAC maintenance across Fort Dodge, Webster City, Humboldt, and Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Signs You Need HVAC Maintenance

  • It's been more than a year since your last tune-up
  • Utility bills are creeping up with no change in usage
  • Some rooms are noticeably hotter or colder than others
  • You hear new noises from the furnace or condenser
  • Dust buildup around vents is increasing
  • System runs longer than it used to

How I Approach HVAC Maintenance

A real tune-up is more than a filter change. I run combustion analysis on gas furnaces, check refrigerant charge and superheat on AC, test every electrical component, clean coils and blower wheels as needed, and give you a written summary of anything I find.

What's Included

  • Combustion and gas pressure analysis (heating)
  • Refrigerant and superheat checks (cooling)
  • Capacitor, contactor, and motor testing
  • Coil cleaning and condensate line clearing
  • Thermostat calibration
  • Written report of condition and recommendations

Why Choose GERARDO HVAC LLC

I don't sell maintenance plans that lock you into upgrades you don't need. You pay for the visit, you get the work, and you decide what comes next based on facts.

HVAC Maintenance — FAQs

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?

Once a year per system, minimum — AC in spring, furnace in fall. Iowa's temperature extremes make seasonal maintenance especially important.

What's the difference between a tune-up and a service call?

A tune-up is preventive: testing, cleaning, and verifying the whole system. A service call diagnoses a specific problem. Tune-ups often prevent the service call entirely.

Will maintenance actually lower my energy bills?

Yes, in most cases. A dirty coil, weak capacitor, or low refrigerant charge can quietly raise your bill 10-30% without an obvious symptom.

Do you offer maintenance for older systems?

Absolutely. Older equipment benefits the most from regular maintenance because small issues compound quickly.
